The Lower Kings River Cookout & Fishing Contest
Our annual Lower Kings River Cookout was a great success. We had nearly 40 people join us this year. Thank you to all who participated. New this year was our first "Fishing Contest." Winners were: Steve Witter for the "MOST FISH" caught that morning with nine to the net prior to noon; and, new member, Bill Ritchey for the "BIGGEST FISH" caught with a beautiful 26 inch Rainbow. There were a number of 20 inch plus fish caught that day. In addition, a number of our members join in to help with the King's River clean-up effort. We appreciate the commitment our club has to protecting our local rivers and fisheries. For photos from the day see the Lower Kings Cookout 2025 Photo Album on our club website.

March 1
Pleasanton Fly Fishing Show

March 8
Upper Kings River
Weather was perfect and the water level was reasonable. Thank you Bill and Brian for hosting a great event on a very special stretch of the river. The barricades were still up about half way back to Garnet Dike so fishing access was condensed, expect for those ambitious enough to hike. Fishing was typical for the Upper Kings. Not easy but beautiful fish if you can find and catch them. We had many members find success with multiple wild rainbows in the 16" to 17" range caught. These are very strong and energetic wild fish. Very fun! Upper Kings River Photo Album

June 21
Marble Fork of the Kaweah - Sequoia NP
We had a great day in Sequoia National Park fishing the Marble Fork of the Kaweah. The fish were mostly small but plentiful and very fun to catch with dry fly on light tackle (a few up to 11" were caught). Some caught on small droppers as well. The weather was perfect and the fishing was good but the highlight for the day was the smoked Tri-tip sandwiches provided by club member Matt Brown. That was very generous of him and the Tri-tips were cooked perfectly. THANK YOU MATT!!! Marble Fork 2025 Photo Album

July 12
Weaver Lake, High Sierra Outing
A beautiful day in the High Sierra. Club members Larry and Dennis started early and made the 2 mile trek to Weaver Lake in time for the morning bit. Hopper dropper worked well early with the nice sized brookies. By 11:00 the fish moved deeper and the wind picked up. The black Woolly Bugger was the ticket in the afternoon.
