This is a unique opportunity to fish the University of California managed private waters on the Lower Yuba River below Englebright Dam. This scenic and challenging stretch of the river has a great reputation for strong active rainbows, and steelhead.

There is a fee for this event of $50 per angler. The event has a limit of 20 anglers and is currently sold out. If you are interested in adding your name to the wait list please let me know by sending an email to tritchey@comcast.net.

Member Tying Demo and Short DF&W Presentation For our June meeting we will feature club tiers demonstrating tying techniques on their favorite flies, and fly tying in general. It will be a great opportunity to ask questions or brush up on a technique that has been difficult to master.We will also have a short presentation at the beginning of the meeting by (local) DF&W Enforcement Officer, Travis Kappen, talking about some volunteer opportunities in the DF&W Natural Resources Volunteer Program.

There are 3 of the Heritage Trout species in the Kern River Basin and Golden Trout Wilderness area. The Little Kern Golden west of the Kern River, the Kern River Rainbow in both branches of the Kern River and the CA Golden Trout on the east side. We are planning a 4 day trip to pursue each of these three species. We will leave early Thursday morning 8/8 and return Sunday, 8/11. we plan to stay in campgrounds. To learn more about the CA Heritage Trout Challenge please visit their website. Over these five days we will head to the far northeast corner of the state to pursue the Warner Lake Redband, the Goose Lake Redband and the McCloud Redband. This will likely be a combination of camping and motels and will finish in Redding on the 18th. Lance Gray has arranged for 4 drift boats on the lower Sacramento River for Thursday, September 19, 2024.

The trip is open for 8 anglers and Lance will attempt to obtain more boats based on demand. The cost for the trip is $275 per angler and requires 2 anglers per boat!
In order to reserve your spot you must complete the attached form and mail a check for the $137.50 deposit (Balance is due on the day of the trip) to the following address: (No refunds will be made)
